Disposal of waste batteries

Disposal of waste batteries

The following notice is intended only for consumers who use batteries or products with built-in batteries and who do not resell them in the form supplied (end-user).

1. Free return of waste batteries

Batteries may not be disposed of with household waste. You are required by law to return waste batteries so that they can be disposed of safely and properly. You may dispose of waste batteries at a local collection point or retailer. As a distributor of batteries, we are also obligated to return waste batteries whereby our obligation to return waste batteries is limited to the type which we currently offer/have offered in our assortment as new batteries. Consequently, you may return waste batteries to us at your own cost by post or they can be returned free of charge directly at our dispatch warehouse at the following address:

Zeitfracht GmbH
Im Dorf 5
27404 Heeslingen
Germany

2. Meaning of the battery symbols

Batteries are labelled with a crossed-out refuse bin (see below). This symbol indicates that batteries must not be disposed of with household waste. Batteries containing more than 0.0005% by weight of mercury, more than 0.002% by mass of cadmium or more than 0.004% by weight of lead, show the chemical name of the particular pollutant used below the refuse bin - ‘Cd’ stands for cadmium, ‘Pb’ stands for lead and ‘Hg’ stands for mercury.
